• Certified Birth Certificate (must have been born in Ontonagon County, and be a birth record for yourself or your child)
• Certified Copy of Marriage License (must have been an Ontonagon County resident at time of a Michigan marriage, or a resident of another state but married in Ontonagon County)

$10 fee for first copy of any vital record, $3 fee for each additional copy

ONTONAGON COUNTY CLERK & REGISTER OF DEEDS

Applications are being accepted for the position of Ontonagon County Clerk & Register of Deeds.  This is an elected office and therefore, applicants must be a qualified elector in County of Ontonagon.  Applications are available at the Ontonagon County Clerk’s Office, 725 Greenland Road, Ontonagon, MI 49953.  Applications for this position will be accepted until Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 12:00 P.M.

The annual salary for this position is up to $66,809 and includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life insurance, and participation in the MERS pension retirement system.
